Symptoms of Depression

It is perfectly normal in life to feel sad at any time. When the feeling lasts and there seems to be no hope, it may not just be the average blues; this might just be a case of depression. At Jacqueline Saad & Associates, psychologists are available to help with this sort of matter; however, in order to tell the difference between the average blues and depression, it is important to know the symptoms beforehand.

Symptoms of depression include feelings of hopelessness or helplessness, loss of interest in daily activities, appetite and/or weight changes, changes in sleep pattern, feeling "slowed down," loss of energy, self-loathing and loss of concentration. Remember, not all symptoms are necessarily present at a time. The stronger these symptoms are, the longer they last and when they are overwhelming and disabling, it's time to seek help.

Jacqueline Saad, principal psychologist of our practice assists individuals with depression and helps them get back on track with their everyday lives. It's never too late to get the help you need to shed the feelings of helplessness and hopelessness, enabling you to live your life with a smile on your face and a positive outlook towards things.
